While the Covid-19 pandemic was tearing the world apart, Elite Learners, Inc. was among those hard at work to do a little mending. Even during the pandemic, the organization did its part, staying true to its vision, “to create a community support system that will positively impact our future generations.”
Our Covid relief efforts range through four major programs:
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Elite Learners, Inc. opened a food distribution center that reached over 300 families. Our reach extended from East Flatbush to Flatbush and Brownsville. Every week, we provided hot meals, fresh produce, groceries, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
This is another initiative that continued even during the pandemic. In Brooklyn, we continued our Violence Interrupter Services and S.U.C.C.E.S.S initiative. These programs excel in decelerating conflicts through crisis management and violence awareness workshops.
We also introduced the Occupy the Corner Movement. This movement saw interrupters, credible messengers, and volunteers positioned in areas deemed violence hotspots. They watched for signs of violence while sharing solutions on how to put an end to violence.
In partnership with The Office to Prevent Gun Violence, Office of Neighbourhood Safety, and NYC Crisis Management System, Elite Learners, Inc. got onto the streets of Brownsville to raise awareness of safety protocols during the pandemic. We also handed out personal protection equipment.
This program started with a mission to keep the youth active and inspired during the pandemic. The program brought youth together in East Flatbush with instructors who would counsel and coach them.
We thank the continued support of our partners, whose hand of partnership continues to make our initiatives a success.
